2015 at “Keep it True Festival Germany” , Dolan, Mantas and Abaddon created the newest incarnation of VENOM … called Venom inc. Now Ten years later the mighty Tony “ Demolition Man” Dolan is leading the pack with two new members. The 10 years victory round is called: Beyond the Black. Ofcourse a nodge to their latest release “There’s Only Black”
With two full- length on their name, the band don’t have to lean on the big guns from Venom. Sadly the band still is to often seen as an cover-act…. Tonight they are at Poppoadium Drachten to show them wrong! But first it’s time for 3 other bands Venom Inc. brought along this majestic tour.
First it’s time for the Djent infused Black Metal act ATER. Coming from Santiago they bring us good solid energetic sounds since 2010. Check their album SOMBER , there are some really good tunes on it. Live they gave us today a dark scenery filled with joy and attitude. It’s great to come early this tour and see some “new band “ to find out. Most people join when the “bigger” act come on stage… their loss. I enjoyed them a lot.
In the meanwhile my daughter having the time of her life backstage with the bands, ( thanks Tony for this opportunity! ) the next band is ready for their warpath. HATE from Poland need no introduction. They deliver us tonight a wide variety of songs from their impressive discography!
Like with their records they keep it very diverse in soundscape. So all the soundscape era from this Polish BM act gets a spot to shine in their set. Bravo!
You want speed, filth and kick in your teeth DM .. you want KRISIUN. Perhaps my favourite band from Brasil . They are always a joy to witness them life. They are getting along for quite some time and to me they are kinda cult. Their best era for me still is before they hit the big label! But still they never fail to deliver some fast brutal DM. Onstage the 3 brothers are fierce and the audience digest the good hard tunes. No fuss or weird shenanigans, just pure oldschool DM. Hope to see them more often here in Europe.
Now its time for the act we all came for! VENOM INC. What a NON-Bullshit show this is. The 3 metalwarriors are on fire. No need to talk to the audience. Keep the rollercoaster rolling. Curran Murphy ( former Nevermore ) is the eyecatcher with his presence on stage. Like a fucking tornado he keeps owning the stage. Playing the insane solo’s and guitarwork with such energy the crowd needs to go wild. Marc Jackson is the one behind the drumkit. The people might remember him from Mpire of Evil. Agreat band which line-up was Mantas , Dolan and Marc Jackson. What a beast is this man. A greatly deserved drum solo spot he gets in the setlist. Tony “Demolion Man ” Dolan is the ruler of this fierce couple of thrashers. With his microphone raised above him, the Englander roars from his toes. The stageprecense is immence and the wall of sound hits us hard but perfectly balanced. Great sound like always in this temple called Iduna!
Like I said before. The band has now enough material to lean on. So people can enjoy the bangers from AVE and There’s only Black. Every day some little setlist changers are made. It keeps the fans and the bandmembers fresh! We can also enjoy some Prime- Evil and Wastelands stuff tonight Of course the people also want BLACK METAL. With much furore and attitude they deliver this anthem. To be honest I love they still play it, but I wouldn’t have missed it if they skipped it. Hail Black N Roll and HAIL Venom Inc.
